Jeremiah was a Maine runaway

It wasn’t reported exactly where the 7-year-old pacer Jeremiah Jones was going, but the gelding apparently got loose from barn at Bangor Raceway on Tuesday and found his way onto the nearby interstate before being stopped by passengers in a truck.

Published reports state that Jeremiah Jones, trained by Kirk Charters and owned by Paivi Brown, got loose around noon on Tuesday with his sulky still attached and made his way onto the westbound ramp to I-395. Police reports indicate that a man driving a passing truck pulled up alongside the gelding in an attempt to grab hold. The man was successful, although the truck sustained some damage. The horse was returned to Bangor with no injuries.
