Real Velocity prevailed in a wicked stretch duel with Symphony In Motion to win the $20,000 second leg of the Jersey Girls Series on Thursday night at the Meadowlands.

Yannick Gingras drove Real Velocity to victory in a career-best 1:52.2. Marietta Hall nosed out Symphony In Motion for second. Real Velocity paid $5.40 to win the night’s seventh race.

Real Velocity has now surpassed $250,000 in career earnings for owners TKO Racing Stable of Greenfield, Indiana. Trained by Mickey Burke, the 4-year-old bay mare has won three out of four starts in 2008.

The Jersey Girls Series concludes with a $69,400 final on March 27. (Meadowlands)
