Jezzy, Miss Sue V in 2:00.1 NYSS wins

Two-year-old trotting fillies took center stage at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway on Friday night as the New York Sire Stakes were in town.

Ray Schnittker had a big night as his stable saw three of its freshmen record wire to wire victories in the $30,000-plus stakes events. Jezzy, perhaps one of the nation's top 2-year-old fillies trotters, made easy work of her competition as she took the evening's opener in convincing fashion. Jezzy, one of four daughters of Credit Winner to record stakes wins on the night, improved her career record to four-for-four behind an open-length 2:00.1 win with Schnittker at the controls.

Jezzy's win time was matched by fellow Credit Winner filly Miss Sue V, who made her lifetime debut a winning one by scoring in 2:00.1 for Brian Mattison.

Carme Blue Chip (Schnittker) and Dance Steps (John Stark Jr) were the other Credit Winner fillies to bring home Sire Stakes blankets while Conway Hall freshmen Some Girls (Gates Brunet), Eight Bells (Wally Hennessey) and Sweet Possession (Schnittker) rounded out the group of seven freshman trotting winners on the night.

New York Sire Stakes action continues on Saturday at Saratoga with a late-closer for 3-year-old pacers on the 14-race program. First post time on Saturday is set for 7:20 pm. (Mike Sardella for Saratoga Gaming & Raceway)
