When perusing the past performances for Saturday's seventh race at the Meadowlands, a $30,000 12-horse field that is Leg 5 of the Metro 6 Shooter wager, handicappers might have noticed an unusual sight: Brothers John and Jim Campbell were both named to drive in the race. Jim Campbell was down to drive his trainee Dial Or Nodial from post nine at odds of 7-2 while John Campbell was listed to drive the Steve Crevani-trained Bullville Powerful from post 11 at odds of 8-1. But Jim Campbell, who last drove in 1999, said that Dial Or Nodial is actually scratched from the race and therefore he did not make a driver change. "He just came up a little bit sick, so we scratched him," said Campbell. The Saturday, June 5, Metro 6 Shooter wager marks the debut of the joint efort between the Meadowlands Racetrack and Yonkers Raceway. The Metro 6 Shooter is a pick six wager with $30,000 added to the net pool. Offered every Saturday, the Metro 6 Shooter will feature races from both the Meadowlands and Yonkers as part of the sequence. It begins with the fourth race from the Meadowlands and will be offered as a $1 minimum wager. If nobody selects six winners, 25 percent of the net pool is paid out to tickets with the most winners selected correctly and 75 percent of the net pool will be carried over to the following Saturday. Free online past performances are available for the Metro 6 Shooter at www.Trackmaster.com/metro6.
