JK beats Devilfish

The first division of hte Clyde Hirt Series on Friday night featured three previous leg winners, JK CU Later, Devilfish and Michelle's Gemstone. The three crossed the wire 1-2-3, but not in the order expected as JK CU Later edged Devilfish by a neck in 1:51.2.

JK CU Later, who paid $12 to win, extended his winning streak to four.

Devilfish was made the betting favorite off of his track record equaling 1:48.3 mile the previous week. He was making a bid for three straight wins, but JK CU Later caught him in the final strides. Ron Pierce drove the winner for trainer Mickey Burke. JK CU Later races for the 3 Brothers Stables of New York, New York.
