In an impressive front-end performance on a frigid Friday night, Street Dancer wired the field in the $35,000 second leg of the Cape & Cutter Series at the Meadowlands. Driven by Ron Pierce, Street Dancer held off the late charge of Nanny Withafanny to win by a half-length in 1:52.4. Riley Rose was third.

Trained by Nelson Willis, Street Dancer posted her first win in three starts this season and improved her career earnings to $391,035. She was named Illinois’ 3-Year-Old Pacing Filly of the Year in 2006. The daughter of Richess Hanover won 17 of 25 starts and was on the board 23 times as a sophomore. She is owned by the partnership of former Illinois Governor Jim Edgar, Terry Rathgeber, Ted Lock and James Reynolds.

The $81,200 Cape & Cutter final is next Friday, Feb. 23.

Later in the card, JK CU Later extended his winning streak to seven in the $20,000 second leg of the Junior Trendsetter Series. The 4-year-old son of Artiscape captured the fifth race in 1:51, also in rein to Pierce. The Mickey Burke trainee is owned by 3 Brothers Stables of New York, N.Y.

Lather Machine, driven by Tim Tetrick and trained by Robert Clark, was the other Junior Trendsetter winner on the card.

The $90,400 Junior Trendsetter final is Saturday, Feb. 24. (Meadowlands)
