JK Reunited sweeps series for fillies/mares at The Meadows

JK Reunited completed her sweep of the Early Call series for 3- and 4-year-old filly pacers Friday at The Meadows, capturing the $28,700 final in 1:52.2, the fastest mile this year for a 4-year-old mare on a five-eighths mile track. The daughter of Bettors Delight-JK On Broadway so dominated the series that the combined margin of her four victories was 22-3/4 lengths.

Dave Palone sent JK Reunited on a quarter-pole move that sealed the victory early. Dixie Dew Bluechip was 10-1/2 lengths back in second, with Marie The Artist third.

"Shes getting stronger and more confident, and today she was unbelievable," Palone said. "When I stepped on the gas, she was gone. Surely shell get to climb the latter before we take on the top ones, but Im sure shell get better. Im not sure she wouldnt be better chasing a helmet, but you dont want to take a chance in these finals."

Ron Burke trains JK Reunited for Sylvia Burke, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, JJK Stables and M1 Stable. Palone drove four winners three for Burke on the 13-race card.

Fiddle Rose, a 4-year-old daughter of Allamerican Ingot-Sunny Hanover, took the $12,000 Early Call consolation for Palone, trainer Rich Gillock and lessees Joe and Joann Thomson. Da Dancer and Helens Vision completed the ticket.

In the $25,000 Preferred Handicap Pace, Martys Charm not only endured a parked-out first quarter of 26.1, but he also fended off all challengers for Randy Tharps and coasted home in 1:51, a lifetime best. Biletnikoff was 3/4 lengths back in second while Pacey Deucey saved show after a demanding first-over trip.
