The fifth-race feature started off with J Lo Hanover and driver Kevin Wallis going to the early lead, but challenged and passed by a speedy Hypnotize and driver Dan Clements at the opening quarter mile in :27.1. But there was no rest on the lead for J Lo Hanover as driver Anthony Napolitano came first-over with Lucy Lucy after the half-mile pole in :56.1 and with an amazing brush of speed, Lucy Lucy collared Hypnotize and took command of the race at the three-quarter mile marker in 1:24.4. It was then that Wallis came back with J Lo Hanover and they were not only able to surpass Lucy Lucy in the stretch, but pulled away from the field with a :28.4 last quarter mile to win by 3 1/4 lengths. Hypnotize came on for second place with Lucy Lucy fading to third. It was the first start at the Isle Pompano Park for J Lo Hanover, a 4-year-old mare by Cam’s Card Shark. Trained by Linda Wallis and owned by Yvette Prudenzano and Basil Kellis of Wells, Maine, it was the second straight win and sixth victory this year for J Lo Hanover. (Pompano Park)
