Joan Cruise, the wife of Hall of Fame horseman Jimmy Cruise, died Thursday following a long illness at the age of 80. Mrs. Cruise was the mother of horsemen Jimmy Cruise Jr. and Earl Cruise.
Mrs. Cruise also bred and owned Standardbreds, including the $651,000-winning Kash Minbar and the $477,000-winning Earl Laird.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Standardbred Retirement Foundation. A private memorial service is scheduled for Mrs. Cruise.
