Joey The Jet JT overlooked at Dover

Overlooked at 7 -1, Joey The Jet JT returned to the winner's circle for the first time in two months to notch a 1:55 victory in the $26,000 Open Trot on Wednesday at Dover Downs. Impel Hanover and Coco Count won the sub-feature trots.
 
With Eric Goodell in the bike for owners Ken Wood and Bill Dittmar, Joey The Jet JT, a gelded son of Wesgate Crown, scored his fourth win of the year in the track's first feature trot of the band new meet. Man About Town finished second with Tony Morgan driving. Allmar Surprise and Vic Kirby took third ending a three-race win streak for the only mare in the race.
 
In the first of two $15,000 sub-feature trots, Jim King hustled Impel Hanover past Black Tie on the final turn on the was to a 1:55.1 score for Carol and trainer Jim Atkinson. It was the Andover Hall-Imposing Hanover 4 year old's sixth win of the year bringing his seasonal win total to $58,080. Black Tie (George Dennis) was second best while Juanita (Jim Morand) nipped Hay Big Tuna (Ross Wolfenden) for third.
 
In the other $15,000 division. Coco Count gave Goodell his second win. Despite winning for the sixth time this season last time out, the 4-year-old Broadway Hall gelding was an 18-1 shot for Paul Chambers and Colleen Chambers Racing scoring his career fastest victory in 1:57. Powerful Committee came on fast for second catching front trotting Fash Bash Girl (Jim Morand) in the closing strides.
 
Morgan had a driving triple while Goodell, Wolfenden and Ron Pierce recorded doubles. (Dover Downs)
