John Kelly, owned KY's Janne Farm, dies

John Morgan Kelly, who owned and operated Janne Farm in Winchester, KY, and also worked as comptroller of The Red Mile, in the 1980s, died Saturday, Nov. 17, at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester. He was 85.
 
Mr. Kelly had a small broodmare band and stood the Albatross stallion Sweet Meadow Doc p,2, 1:56.4 at his farm.
 
He also at one time operated and owned Fil-A Sak Grocery in Lexington, Ky., nad his hobbies included travel, flying planes, and coaching baseball and basketball.
 
He is survived by his wife, Billie Hill Kelly; two daughters, Jan (Jeff) Calvert and Anne (Andy) Gross, for whom he named his farm; and three grandchildren.
 
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 am at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Main Street, in Lexington.
