Fox Valley Appeal coasted to his third straight victory, winning the second of five $12,500 divisions of the Junior Trendsetter Series on Thursday night at the Meadowlands.

Brian Sears was at the lines of the Jeff Smith trainee who has now won eight of 13 lifetime starts. The 3-year-old Sportsmaster gelding paced the mile in 1:52.3. The Tappan Zee was second by 1 1/2 lengths and it was 2 3/4 lengths back to Royal Man in third.

It was a big night for the breeding program at Kenneth and Patricia Walker's Fox Valley Standardbreds of Sherman, Ill. Fox Valley horses also won two of the other second round divisions of the Junior Trendsetter. Fox Valley Cruiser edged out Fox Valley Slam It by a half length. Also winning was Fox Valley Bigshot, who has won both of his Junior Trendsetter prelims.

The top 10 money earners after two weeks of preliminary legs will advance to the $88,000 Junior Trendsetter final on Feb. 25.
