A crowd of about 50,000 is once again expected to pack the fairgrounds in Delaware, Ohio, on Thursday afternoon for the 64th renewal of the $650,000 Little Brown Jug for 3-year-old colt pacers, the second jewel of the Triple Crown. Temperatures are expected to top out in the high 70s under cloudy skies, with a slight chance of light rain intermittent throughout the day.
As for the Jug, Well Said was installed the 2-1 choice in the third Jug Future wagering pool that closed Wednesday night. The winner of the Meadowlands Pace and North America Cup will start from post eight in the second of two elims for driver Ron Pierce. Vintage Master, who won the Cane Pace and is the only horse now able to capture the Triple Crown, was made the 3-1 second choice and will start from post four in the same elim as Well Said.
