While you can't win the purse money and stand in the winner's circle with your winning horse, you can win a 42-inch Toshiba television if you can win this year's Little Brown Jug Fantasy contest.
Just go to www.jugbarn.comand create your own stable of 10 Jug eligible 3-year-old pacers. Modeled after the popular “Road to the Roses” contest for the Kentucky Derby, jugbarn.com allows you to select horses and accumulate points in each of the 17 scheduled contest races leading up to and including the Sept. 18 Little Brown Jug. Players collect points if their horses are among the top five finishers in each race.
There is no entry fee to play. The first place prize is a 42-inch flat screen Toshiba TV and two tickets for the 2009 Jugette and Jug Day in the Hospitality Pavilion. The second-place prize is a $500 wagering voucher, two Hospitality Pavillion tickets for the 2009 Jugette and Jug Day and three nights lodging at the Columbus Sheraton Suites. Other prizes include a Toshiba Satellite laptop computer, stadium and grandstand tickets for the 2009 Little Brown Jug, $100 Office Depot gift cards and souvenir shirts and hats.
Prizes will also be awarded to the top 10 leaders following the Meadowlands Pace Final on July 19 including two tickets each to the Little Brown Jug. The top 10 midway point leaders who are in attendance at this year’s Jug will also be honored in infield ceremonies.
The U.S. Trottng Association-Harness Tracks of America members benefit program and Jim Winske’s Embroidery Ltd. provide the prizes.

The first race in this year’s Little Brown Jug Fantasy contest is the Burlington Stakes, Saturday, May 31 at Mohawk Racetrack. If you want to get in on the fun and start earning points from the start, your deadline is 10 am May 31. You must activate 5 horses from your 10-horse stable for each contest race. Only horses that are given “active” status will be eligible to earn points. Players will have a timeframe in which they will be able to change their active horses after each race. You also must select two trainers and two drivers.
You will be able to replace up to 2 horses in your stable, plus 1 trainer and 1 driver, during each of two supplemental draft periods.
