Julians Caesar won the $9,500 Open Trot in Northfield Park's sixth race on Monday (March 10). Ron Burke trains the 7-year-old trotter for owners Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. Chris Page was the winning driver.
Julians Caesar (Oaklea Julian-Twin B Lady-Royal Strength) started from post six and let his competition carve out the fractions of :28.4, :58.3 and 1:28 before taking the lead in the stretch and winning by 2 ¼-lengths in 1:58.2. Completing the race were Sure Thing, Hello Carlo, Easy Strength, Tagmaster, Zorgwijk Heavenly and Kahoku.
Monday's triumph increased Julians Ceasar's lifetime win tally to 12 and his earnings to $245,172. He was the race favorite and returned $6.40 to win.
In Monday's ninth race, Man He Can Skoot captured the $9,500 Open Pace for owners Carl Howard and Gerrie Tucker. Trainer Virgil Morgan Jr. called upon Ronnie Wrenn Jr. to drive.
Man He Can Skoot (Mantacular-Skoot'n By-Direct Scooter) started from post three and led at every call. He posted fractions of :27.4, :57.2, 1:25.4 and won by a full length in 1:54.1. Completing the race were Shark Dressed Man, Forever Good, Western Churchill, Curator, Goodnite Goodluck and Lyons Joseph JNR.
Man He Can Skoot now has 22 career wins. Monday's victory pushed his bankroll to $146,892.He was heavily favored and paid $4.20 to win. (Northfield)
