June Carol Bergstein, wife of HTA Executive Vice President Stan Bergstein, died early this morning at Hospice Family Care in Tucson, four days after the couple’s 60th wedding anniversary. A regal and elegant popular model in her youth, June had worked at Mme. Marguerite Pick’s Michigan Ave. salon in Chicago, for General Motors and J. L. Hudson in Detroit, and for the famed Ford Agency in New York.
She studied opera in Chicago with the renowned soprano and teacher Rosa Raisa, before her marriage to Stan on June 4, 1950, in San Gabriel, California, where he was working at the Western Harness meeting at Santa Anita.
She is survived by Stan; their son Al, who retired from Microsoft after 10 years to found Mountainstone Productions, a video documentary firm, in Port Townsend, Washington; their daughter Lisa, married to Dr. Craig Tremback, president of Atmet, an international atmospheric and meteorological firm in Lafayette, Colorado; and four grandsons. Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the HTA College Scholarship Fund and sent to HTA, 4640 E. Sunrise Drive, Suite 200, Tucson, AZ 85718. (HTA)
