The classy Justice Hall left the racing ranks a popular winner Friday nigbt, easily handling the co-featured $30,000 Open Handicap Trot at Yonkers Raceway.

With Jim Meittinis doing the honors for co-owners (trainer Kevin Thomas) and Mary Katz, Justice Hall--unhurried from post position four--watched as  Par One (Jeff Gregory) led through early fractions of :28.1 and :57.4. Unable to get Longpond Emily (Greg Grismore) to bite, Justice Hall then rolled from fourth.

He engaged the leader in earnest by the 1:27.1 three-quarters, taking a short lead into the lane before running up the score. The even-money favorite widened to win by three lengths in 1:57.4, his 16th career victory in his 81st start.

Enjoy the Victory (Larry Stalbaum), who crossed the line first a week ago only to be set down a place for interference, closed to grab second. Longpond  Emily, Byzanz (Jim Pantaleano) and last week's put-up winner, Stan (Jordan Stratton), completed the cashers.

Justice Hall, who ended his final season with four wins in 27 tries ($108.725), retired with career cash of $768,001. He paid $4, leading an $18.40 exacta and $68 triple. The 6-year-old son of Garland Lobell now readies for his second career as a Quebec stallion.

Friday night's co-featured $30,000 Filly and Mare Open 'Cap Pace saw second-choice Western Graduate (Eric Abbatiello) have to work to get the lead,  then rebuff the advances of 1-2 favorite Miss Galvinator A (Stephane Bouchard).

Western Graduate, a 3-year-old facing elders, was hard-pressed to get over Leanback Coco (Stalbaum) after a 28-second opening quarter-mile.  She then hung the people's choice through a :56.2 intermission and 1:25 three-quarters.

Western Graduate busted the affair open, with 3 1/2 lengths entering the lane and 5 1/4 lengths at the wire, which she found in 1:54.2.

Miss Galvinator A was second despite the brutal trip, with Leanback Coco, last week's victress, Lislea Bella (Pat Berry) and Up Front Jasn-E-Lu (Pat Lachance) also making money.

Western Graduate, trained by Abbatiello for owner Howard Schneidler, returned $10,20 (second choice) for her ninth win in 21 '07 tries ($446,495). The exacta paid $14.60, with the triple good for $104.50.  (Yonkers Raceway)
