Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear announced on Thursday that he has changed his mind and has decided to add legislation that would allow slot machines at Kentucky’s racetracks to the agenda of the special legislative session that begins June 15.
On Wednesday Gov. Beshear said the special session's initial agenda did not include any consideration of gaming legislation.
“Kentucky’s horse industry — a living, breathing part of our cultural heritage and one of our strongest, most precious commodities abroad — is in a state of crisis,” Gov. Beshear said in a press release.
