Kentucky Hall of Famer David Goatley dies

Kentucky Hall of Fame horseman David Milton Goatley died Saturday, March 6, in Bardstown. He was 91.

Mr. Goatley was an elder in the Springfield Presbyterian Church, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Springfield Masonic Lodge #50 F&AM.

Mr. Goatley and his brother, Chester, were active in the Standardbred business for over 25 years and he was inducted into the Kentucky Harness Horsemen's Association Hall of Fame in 2008.

Mr. Goatley is survived by his wife, Sara McClure Hagan; son, David Mason (Allie); daughters, Sally Mattingly and Kathy (Eddy) Barber; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Presbyterian Church.
