A pair of blazing win times by Real Class (1:49.3) and Digital Z Tam (1:49.4) highlighted the final leg of Kentucky Sire Stakes (KYSS) for 3 year olds at The Red Mile Sunday night, Sept. 2.

Real Class cleared at the :54.4 half and hung on for his second consecutive KYSS win. Dave Palone drove the Real Desire colt to his fifth win in seven starts for trainer Eric Reese and owner Joba Stable.

Digital Z Tam continues to be a juggernaut at The Red Mile. The Cambest sophomore completed the KYSS sweep but did face some serious competition from hard-charging Cinderella Guy and Proven Lover. Mike Lachance drove Digital Z Tam to his fifth consecutive win for trainer Pat Lachance and owner MJGB Racing Stable.

Both winning colts set lifetime marks with their respective wins. They will face off in the $200,000 KYSS final Sunday night, Sept. 9.

Soggy Britches equaled her lifetime best, set last week against KYSS pacing fillies, with a 1:50.2 score in her $25,000 KYSS leg. Palone picked up one of his five wins aboard the Allamerican Ingot filly for trainer Mike Medors and owner Emerald Highlands Farm.

Chancey Hall won his $50,000 KYSS leg for trotting colts in 1:54.4 with Lachance aboard. A colt by Like A Prayer, Chancey Hall is trained by Skip Lewis for co-owners Richard Thurlow and Samuel Lewis.

Charmaine As upset Godiva Hall in the $50,000 KYSS leg for trotting fillies. Andy Miller convinced Charmaine As, a Like A Prayer filly, to hold off Godiva Hall in 1:54.2. Anette Lorentzon trains Charmaine As for owner ACL Stuteri.

Before Dawn picked up her first KYSS win in the other $25,000 KYSS leg for pacing fillies. Tony Hall steered the Cambest filly to the 1:51.1 win for trainer Mark Goldberg and owner Peter Kleinhans.

These KYSS stars will meet next Sunday, Sept. 9, at The Red Mile for the $200,000 KYSS finals. Post time is 6:30 p.m. (Red Mile)
