The closing race on the Donald Monkman, Jr. and Keystone Matt got away third as race favorite Bettor Tuwin and William Tainsh, Jr. posted fast early fractions of :26.3 and :53.4 over the 5/8 mile track. Posting a :28.4 last quarter Keystone Matt won the Final for Alberta sired, owned or foaled horses. Bettor Tuwin held on for second while Shane Hall and Gerry Hudon came from eighth for third. Monkman also trains the Western Hanover colt for Don Byrne Stable 2004, Inc. and Don M Jr. Stables. Keystone Matt now has five wins in 10 lifetime starts and is nearing the $100,000 mile marker in earnings.
