The Kentucky Harness Horsemen's Association (KHHA) inducted Carter Duer and the late David Johnston into the association's Hall of Fame Tuesday night at the historic Round Barn on the grounds of The Red Mile.

Duer, a native of Virginia, began his career at Castleton Farm and served as the farm manager at Kentuckiana Farms before beginning his Peninsula Farm venture in Lexington.

Duer was introduced by Dean Hoffman, who noted that Duer "achieved his status through honesty, hard work and horsemanship."

John Cashman Jr. introduced David Johnston, who along with Norman Woolworth owned Stoner Creek Stud in Paris, Ky. Johnston also raced many top trotters, including Rodney, and served on the boards of the Lexington Trots Breeders Association, the US Trotting Association and the Hambletonian Society.

Johnston's widow, Alice, and daughters Adelaide Skoglund and Alice McLear were in attendance for the induction.
