Khifra Hanover and Grand Photo returned to the win column in $22,000 Jr. Open Trot victories on Wednesday at Dover Downs.
Razor-sharp Grand Photo registered his fastest winning time as Bob Shahan guided the SJ's Photo gelding to a front-trotting 1:56.1 victory. Magic Swan, with Vic Kirby, the public choice finished second with Rattlesnake Jake and George Dennis next. The win was the seventh of the season for Grand Photo, now a winner of $64,775 this year for owners Jeff and Jewell Marsh and Cindy Issel. In the $15,000 sub-feature trot, White Hollow Bob scored a gate-to-wire 1:57.1 victory with Ross Wolfenden driving for Rodney Long, Howard Bowmen and Tim Hundertpfund. It was the 5 year old Muscles Yankee gelding's third consecutive win. Johnny Peanuts (Poliseno) gave chase from the half but had to settle for second. Bud Ross (Dennis) took third.
The $30,000 claimer went to Bill Emmons' Hoss Cartwright N, driven to a 1:52.3 success by the meet's leading driver Morgan. GE's Jackson (Corey Callahan) was second best. Brookfieldpoketime (Mike Cole) closed along the passing lane to finish third. Foulk Stables' Diamonds Revenge cashed in a 1:53.3 score in a $25,000 claimer with Cole at the controls. Mythicalconnection (Jim Morand) was runner-up. Reachforthestars, leased by Franny West, Frances Pitts and trainer Ron Millman, won a $`17,500 claimer as Cole won the second of three races, scoring a 1:55.4 win. Fox Valley Flyby (Morand) and Big Lague Barry (Callahan) were second and third, respectively. (Dover Downs)
