King Conch dies

Canadian trotting sire King Conch died Wednesday at the University of Guelph, where he was rushed to after beginning to colic. Surgery was performed but it was unsuccessful.



The winner of the 1991 Breeders Crown 2-Year-Old Colt Trot, King Conch had spent his entire stud career at Armstrong Bros. of Inglewood, Ont. His performers earned more than $20 million, including millionaire Casual Breeze, In Conchnito and Corn Cob Conch.



King Conch was supposed to remain at the Ontario farm as part of the new stallion operation managed by Winbak Farms.
