New Zealand invader Ewie Duncan N, in only his third start in the U.S., powered off a second-over trip and captured the $85,000 Complex Series final Saturday night at the Meadowlands in 1:51 with David Miller up. Armbro Dublin and Andy Miller found an opening in the middle of the field to close from next to last and finish one length behind the winner while Super Eighty Eight and Daniel Dube were third.

Three lead changes in the first half of the race has White Hot Cards at the half in :54 with Super Eight Eight on his flank, providing cover for Ewie Duncan N. The three quarters was passed in 1:22.2 before Miller tipped the the 5-year-old gelded son of Live Or Die to the outside for the stretch drive.

Australian native Ross Croghan trains the winner for the Let It Ride Stables and Robert Cooper. Ewie Duncan N went behind the gate as the 4-5 favorite off his second-place finish in the series’ first leg and a 1:50.4 triumph in last week’s second leg.
