Kyle Bolon gets 1st win

Kyle Bolon, the son of the Meadows-based driver-trainer Rodney Bolon, picked up his first driving victory, in what was only his third qualifying drive, on Tuesday morning at The Meadows. The younger Bolon, who will turn 18 in six days, drove Spotty Too Hotty, a 4-year-old trotting mare co-owned by his father and Mike Fellinger.

Leaving from post seven, Bolon placed Spotty Too Hotty on the lead and then set quarter-mile fractions of :30, 1:00.3, and 1:30.4 before trotting home in :31.1 and stopping the timer at 2:02 to win by a comfortable margin.

Kyle Bolon has been working in his father's stable for many years, and has been around horses his entire life. Although he has only driven in three qualifying races, Kyle Bolon’s poise and control on the racetrack should account for a promising future in the racing business, which is off to an exciting start.
