Ky. slot bill introduced

Two bills have been introduced in the Kentucky legislature Thursday that call for a referendum on whether casinos should be legalized at the state\'s racetracks. The bills were put forth by Democratic Rep. Joe Barrows and Sen. David Boswell.



According to the Kentucky Equine Education Project (KEEP), the proposed bill would ask state voters to approve full casino gambling at the eight racetracks in the state on the November ballot.



The first bill contains the language for a constitutional amendment on authorizing expanded gambling, while the second details how and where casinos would be able to operate.



"It would appear that we are engaged now," Senate president David Williams was quoted as saying. "The battle has begun about Kentucky's future."
