A race accident in a qualifier at The Red Mile Tuesday morning caused two horses to fall and another to unseat Hall of Fame driver Mike Lachance, but all involved came out of the incident unscathed. Lachance was tended to by medical personnel on site after the accident and was deemed OK, with Erv Miller and Andrew McCarthy, who were behind the other horses involved, also fine.

Miller's Panplona and McCarthy's Gone To Rehab both fell as a result of the accident, while Lightning Moon--a 2-year-old colt pacer making his fifth qualifying start--dumped Lachance to the track and then took off, taking about 15 minutes before being able to be caught. Lachance is scheduled to drive Tuesday night at Balmoral Park behind Cantabmyway in the $114,000 American National 2-Year-Old Colt Trot and Musical Mystery in the $100,000 American National Filly Trot, and according to trainer Ron Gurfein, will be climbing into the sulky.

The race was won by 2008 Woodrow Wilson runner-up Mysticism, who scored in 1:54.4 for driver John Campbell and trainer Steve Elliott.
