Five of the 10 fillies in two divisions of the Lady Suffolk Trot on May 7, 2010 at Freehold Raceway are New Jersey-sired.

The Lady Suffolk is being presented as a pair of $40,000 divisions, carded as the third and fifth races on Friday’s card.  The Lady Suffolk for three-year-old trotting fillies is the companion event for Saturday’s Dexter Cup.

In the first split, Religulous by New Jersey-based Muscles Yankee, makes her 2010 debut and has been installed as the 2-1 morning line favorite.  John Campbell will be in the sulky of the Jeff Webster trainee.  Still winless, she finished first or second in four of her 10 starts at two, banking $53,516.

Another Muscles Yankee filly Kitefin Hanover, is the 3-1 second choice.  Cat Manzi will be handed the lines by Randy Beeckman.  Kitefin Hanover earned $28, 995 with one win, one second and three thirds from 10 starts at two.

Keystone Tabby, by New Jersey stallion Classic Photo, also drew into the first division and is listed at 4-1.  She will be driven by her trainer, Trond Smedshammer.

Charlotte Alber by Muscles Yankee and Reviewer by Yankee Glide are the two New Jersey-sired entrants in the second division.

Reviewer, once again pairing Manzi with trainer Beeckman, is rated 4-1 in the morning line.  She finished on the board in six of eight starts in 2009, earning $21,445.

Charlotte Alber, trained by Bruce Lauer and driven by Jeff Gregory, has a first and two thirds in three starts this year and has finished in the top three in eight of 10 career outings for $28,100 to her credit.  She is listed at 6-1.

The Lady Suffolk has been contested since 1960, moving from Yonkers to Freehold in 1992.  The stakes record of 1:57.3 was set by Stacy Spice, driven by Campbell, in 1996. (SBOANJ)
