In the first half of the 51st edition Lady Suffolk Trot, Mentally Stable and Jerry Silva’s Religulous took the lead at the start and never looked back while holding off Keystone Tabby in a long stretch battle.

The daughter of Muscles Yankee went the distance in a clocking of 2:01.4 to win by a length. The runnerup finished 2 1/2 lengths in front of Kitefin Hanover.

With Hall of Famer John Campbell doing the steering for his seventh Lady Suffolk triumph, Religulous scored her initial victory lifetime and increased her bankroll to $73,516.

In division two, American Viking Racing Stable, Gewertz, Feldman and Rojan Stable’s Sweetspellosuccess took full control from the outset and won very handily by a measured 2 3/4 lengths over Reviewer who was 4 1/2 lengths clear of Charlotte Alber at the finish.

Sweetspellosuccess was the biggest money earner entered in either division of the Lady Suffolk and brought her earnings to $111,274 with this victory, her fourth in eight career starts. Trainer-driver Trond Smedshammer brought the daughter of Credit Winner home in 2:00.4, giving him his fifth lifetime Lady Suffolk victory. (Freehold)
