In the draw for the $750,000 Hambletonian Oaks at a press conference Tuesday at the Meadowlands, the name of Creamy Mimi came out first in the hunt for post-position order for the elimination winners, and trainer Trond Smedshammer took post one, noting the filly left from that same spot in her elim victory. Smedshammer had to change drivers though as Brian Sears—who swept all three Oaks elims—decided to stay with Lantern Kronos.
Trainer Jimmy Takter had the second choice for posts for Lantern Kronos and took post three and was promptly named the 8-5 morning-line choice. Jules Siegel, who shares ownership of third-elim winner Stage Show with his wife, Arlene, then chose post three for his filly, who will be driven by John Campbell, the brother of trainer Jim Campbell. $750,000 Hambletonian Oaks (7th race) PP Horse (driver) Morning Line 1 Creamy Mimi (Andy Miller) 4-1 2 Stage Show (John Campbell) 5-1 3 Lantern Kronos (Brian Sears) 8-5 4 Saorse (Louis Baudron) 10-1 5.
