Larry Foureman, active in Ohio fairs, dies

Larry L. Foureman, 77, of Arcanum, Ohio, president of the Ohio Colt Racing Association, vice president of the H.M. Parshall Memorial and treasurer of the Signature Series fair races in the Buckeye State, died Jan. 14, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
 
Mr. Foureman was born in Abbottsville on Aug. 7, 1935, the son of the late Wherly D. and Iva A. (Burns) Foureman. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Ithaca. He was a former Darke County Commissioner, Van Buren Township Trustee, Arcanum Mayor and member of the Village Council, Darke County Township Trustee past president, State of Ohio Township Trustee director, past president of the State of Ohio County Commissioners, founder of the National Kiddie Tractor Pullers and the Hennipen Racing Ducks.

Mr. Foureman was the originator of the Halloween Bean Supper, director of the former Arcanum National Bank, former Arcanum assistant fire chief and a founding member of the Arcanum Community Rescue Squad. He was a member of the Arcanum Area Business Association and the Greenville Moose, Eagles, and Elks Lodges,and on the board of directors of the Eagles Lodge.

Mr. Fouremanis survived by his wife, Judith (Rogers), whom he married May 14, 1983; children, Mark David (Tammy), Lari Lynn Reinoehl, Michele (Brent) Black,and Jack Matthew Louderback; grandchildren, John,David, Travis Reinoehl,Tyler (Sarah) Reinoehl, Angie (Matt) Nichol, Kelly Manson and Natalie Louderback; and seven great-grandchildren. Hewas preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Thelma and Berdine Case; brother, Myron "Barney"; and son-in-law, Gary Reinoehl.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, at Grace United Methodist Church, Ithaca, with Rev. Tim Lehman officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday (Jan. 18) from 4-8 p.m. at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum.
