Reigning Miss Versatility champion Lavec Dream will defend her crown in this year's series as she drew into the first of two divisions at Vernon Downs Saturday night.
Lavec Dream, a 6-year-old Enjoy Lavec mare, has made over $220,000 in her last five starts and established a new lifetime mark of 1:52.3 at Mohawk in the final of the Armbro Flight Stake.
Rounding out the first division is Birminghim (Stephen Condren), Up Front Hotsey (Andrew McCarthy), Mystical Sunshine (Jim Morrill Jr.), I’m Just A Lady (Stephane Bouchard) and Godess Of Chaos (Jim Raymer). In the second division, Queen Serene, fresh off her 1:51.4 score in the Perretti Matchmaker at the Meadowlands, has been listed as the 8-5 morning line choice with trainer Trond Smedshammer in the sulky. Pure Ivory, who was the runner-up to Queen Serene in that race, will look for revenge with Stephen Condren in the sulky. Rounding out the field in the second division is Freeze Frame (Mike Simons), Susie’s Magic (Morrill), Wildfire Julie (Howard Parker), and Belle Of The Ball (Brian Allen). (Vernon Downs)
