Ledfords appeal suspensions

New Jersey Racing Commission deputy director Mike Vukcevich told harnessracing.com Tuesday morning, April 18, that suspended driver Eric Ledford, trainer Seldon Ledford, stable assistants Ryan Dailey and his wife, Ardena Dailey, and veterinarian Dr. John Witmer have all filed an appeal and requested a stay from commission executive director Frank Zanzuccki.

Vukcevich earlier explained that if Zanzuccki does not issue the stay to the five involved, than they hagve an immediate right to appeal to the Appelate Court. The court would either grant the stay or agree with Zanzuccki.

The appeals will go before an Administrative Law judge who will then, according to Vukcevich, “recommend a decision to the Racing Commission, which can then either accept what the judge says, reject what the judge says and do what they want, or modify what the judge says.”
