Lenore "Lee" Vinnedge Bowen, the wife of The Red Mile's director of sponsorships Charlie Bowen, died Sunday, April 4. She was 82.
A graduate of Miami University, Mrs. Bowen was a member of Alpha Omega Pi sorority and in 1947 named queen of Miami's Recensio Yearbook. For many years she was a member of Childhood League and continued as an assistant board member. She was a past member of the Columbus Country Club, the U.S. Trotting Association, and past chairwoman of the St. Alban Episcopal Church Women's Guild.
Mrs. Bowen is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles E. Bowen; two daughters, Patricia Bowen Prosser and Gail Bowen Ward; two sons, Jeffrey H. Bowen and Charles H. Bowen; and grandchildren Kyle Bowen, Kendall Bowen and Stephanie Bowen.
At the family's request, funeral and memorial services will be private.
