Lexington Selected Yearling Sale catalog

Return Home
August 25, 2010 | Print View

The catalog for this fall's Lexington Selected Yearling Sale is now available on the company's website, www.lexingtonselected.com. The printed version will mail early next week and should be in buyers' mailboxes by the end of August.

Those wishing to view the online catalog should click on the "Sale Roster" link in the left column of the front page. On that roster page, one has the option to download yearling pedigree pages by session, by consignor, by sire or by dam.

The sale is scheduled to commence Wednesday, Oct. 13, with evening sessions through Saturday starting at 7:00 p.m. Sunday's all-day session begins at 12:00 noon.

According to sale co-manager Geoffrey Stein, this year's Lexington sale, with 820 head scheduled to go under the auctioneer's hammer, has shaped up as one of the deepest and best ever. "We not only have the right sires, we've got the right individuals to go with them," Stein said. "Sometimes pedigrees and the yearlings themselves don't line up so well, but this year I think buyers will be impressed with the types of horses we're offering, conformation and pedigree-wise, by the most sought-after sires," he added.

There are no less than 42 head by Rocknroll Hanover, who leads all sires in 2010 2 and 3-year-old money-earnings and in the sophomore glamour division, is $2.5-million ahead of his closest competitor. On the trotting side of the ledger, there will be 22 colts and 15 fillies offered from the highly-anticipated first crop by World Champion and "Horse of the Year" Donato Hanover.
