October 25, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Freida Ivory's Canaco Lily ($6) won her fouth straight race Tuesday at Harrington Raceway in one of three $13,700 Junior Open divisions for fillies and mares in 1:56.2 on a brisk and windy evening of racing.

Driven by George Dennis, the 7-year-old Jeremys Gambit mare left from post five and got away third behind pacesetter Rakalees N and Bayland Lady. Lily didn't receive room until the stretch run when she surged by Rakalees for the win. The Kevin McDermott-trainee is four for four since changing barns and has earned better than $70,000 in 2006.

Katja Schreyvogel and William Seplowe's Costly Legs ($39.20) and Kathleen Stafford and Richard Macleish's Ain't Goin Back ($8.40) won the remaining divisions.

With just two nights of racing left in the summer/fall meet, Josh Green (39 wins) maintains a two-win lead over Chuck Crissman in the trainer standings. Tony Morgan's 170 wins tops the driver standings.

On Wednesday, four $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) stake finals will be contested for 2 year olds on a rich night of racing featuring nearly $600,000 in total purses. (Harrington)
