May 06, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Lis Mara, a winner of seven of 20 starts last season, made his third start of 2006 a huge victory as he scored at Woodbine Saturday night in a lifetime best 1:49.4. The 4-year-old Cambest stallion was driven by Keith Oliver.

Last year Lis Mara won a heat of the Confederation Cup and finished second to Rocknroll Hanover in the Simcoe.

In other Woodbine action Saturday, the second leg of the Diplomat Series—which was won last year by Lis Mara—was contested.

Armbro Damien, a 3-year-old colt by Western Hanover out of Armbro Romance, took the lead before the half and went on to win in 1:51.2. Bob McIntosh trains the colt and owns him in partnership with CSX Stable and Michael Kohl. Rosecroft Rummyu, an Artiscape filly trained in Delaware, finished second .
