Mike Epler's Lite Me Up ($5.20) flashed the form that won him local Horse-of-the-Year honors at Northfield in 2008, as he took control of Saturday's $5,500 Open Handicap Pace as the field approached the 27.1 quarter, and then rolled through fractions of 56.4 and 1:25.4, holding off a fast-charging Munster Cookie and pocket-sitting Expresso Forte to win in 1:54.3. Kurt Sugg drover the winner, a six-year-old Stand Forever stallion, who has now earned just shy of $196,000 in his career. The win was the fifth of the year and his 33rd in 107 career trips beind the gate. (Northfield)
