Longshots at Rosecroft

In Rosecroft’s top event of Saturday evening, longshot Keystone Demi paced three-wide to win in 1:57.3 for driver Corey Callahan.

The 4-year-old Western Hanover mare, owned by Robert Rudolph of N.J., left the gate from post six to close strongly through a second-over trip. Trained by Arthur Allen, this victory marks the mare’s first of the season. As of Saturday, driver Callahan holds one of the top UDRS ratings at Rosecroft, with a .407.

Second under the wire were Missyoulin and driver Matt Stelick. The 6-year-old Captain Per mare tracked Keystone Demi through the late fractions of the race and closed alertly with a :30.1 final quarter. Missyoulin is co-owned by Alvin Mindel and trainer George Bartlett.

At 26-1 odds by post time, Badlands Bad Girl finished third for owner-trainer-driver Kelly Staten, and Silly Tune (Jerry Nock) closed out the $997.20 superfecta.
