Racsan John, a winner of his previous two races, was overlooked at 23-1 in a $15,000 feature pace while Allmar Surprise, off at 19-1 won the $14,000 top trot of the night at Dover Downs on Saturday, Dec. 5. Both longshot winners were driven by Vic Kirby. Meet leading driver Corey Callahan had a triple.

After consecutive easy wins as race favorite from inside posts in his last outings, Racsan John drew post 8 in the $15,000 Male pace and kept his win streak alive notching a 1:53.3 victory with Vic Kirby at the controls for his second winning drive on the program.  Don Hawk and trainer Dan Warrington bred and own the altered son of Wynfield Mark-Heavy Thunder, now a winner of $33,350 this season.

Racsan John came on strong in the stretch to catch Field Of Honour A (Eddie Davis Jr.) by a head at the wire for the victory.  Bachelorboy (Tony Morgan) took show money.

In the $14,000 trot, Kirby again left from post 8 with a new member of his stable recently acquired from Canadian interests. The Angus Hall-Benita Victory filly took the lead after the opening quarter and was never threatened on the way to an easy 1:56.4 win, a new lifetime best. Kirby and Matt Ivory purchased the filly a little more than a month ago and after qualifying her twice with wins over off tracks, the three-year-old was ignored in the wagering 19-1. Skad’s Winner (Tony Morgan) finished second with Yarborough Hanover (Vince Copeland) taking third.

Mike Cole had a driving double while trainer Trish Foulk and Foulk Stables made the winner’s circle two times.

Two $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund Finals, one of filly trotters, the other for colt trotters head the Sunday card. (Dover Downs)
