April 05, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Lotsa Clout p,3, 1:50 ($781,342) has died in Australia reportedly as a result of a snake bite. The 8-year-old son of Jenna's Beach Boy had been standing stud Down Under and his first crop of 2 year olds are now on the track.

Lotsa Clout was owned by Lee and Linda DeVisser and trained by Jim Campbell and Joe Holloway over his racing career. At two Lotsa Clout won the Matron final and Metro consolation, and finished third in the $545,300 Governor's Cup. At three he won a Bluegrass division and also finished second in the $781,050 Breeders Crown final behind Real Desire.

Lotsa Clout had been standing stud Down Under at the Goldrush Lodge in Queensland, which over the past three years also lost sires Fake Left and Perfect Art. Lotsa Clout has already sired eight winners from his initial crop of 36 foals, including the top filly Sheza Clout, who won the $20,000 Western Crown Classic, and colt Hy Royale, who has won four of five starts.
