Rumorsliesnalibies turned in an impressive two-move effort Thursday night to win for the second straight week in the Bridger Trotting Series for 2-year-old colts and geldings at Mohawk Racetrack. The other $15,000(C) split went to Lancer Springs who was a runner-up in round one.

With Randy Waples catch driving, Rumorsliesnalibies left alertly and got away second behind Go Go Don through an opening split of :29.4. The son of Dr. Ronerail then quarter-pole moved to the front and led past the half in 1:00.

At that point, Captain Sparrow and driver Rod Allen made a brush to the front and Rumorsliesnalibies once again found himself sitting second as the field neared three-quarters. Just prior to reaching the third station in 1:31, Waples brought his charge to the outside and easily trotted past the pacesetter for the win.

Rumorsliesnalibies hit the wire 1 1/4 lengths ahead of Conway As with Smoking Gun finishing third in a time of 2:00.1.

The colt now has two wins in seven starts this season for trainer Bill Van Katwyk who co-owns along with John Allen of Freelton, Ontario.

After missing by just a neck in last week’s first leg, Lancer Springs turned the tables in the opening division as he cruised gate to wire for driver Luc Ouellette in 2:00.2. The Lindy Lane colt used a :29.2 final quarter to turn back Kangamangus and Windsong Espoir.

It was the third win in just five tries for the Chestnut colt who is owned by David Lang, James Gallagher and Chris Beaver, who also does the training.

The $49,400(C) final of the Bridger Series goes next Thursday night at Mohawk. (WEG)
