Longtime Standardbred horseman Thomas F. Luchento of Freehold has been re-elected to a third one-year term as president of the Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New Jersey.
Other officers elected for 2007-2008 were: Ed Razzetti, an owner from Hasbrouck Heights, first vice president; Martin O’Hare, of Cream Ridge, who is manager of Joie De Vie Farm in Jobstown, second vice president; Kelvin Harrison, a veteran trainer from Clarksburg, third vice president; owner Alfred Ochsner of Monroe Township, treasurer, and owner Anthony Romano of Clarksburg, secretary. In addition, three new Board members were seated at the organization’s annual meeting at Freehold Raceway on Oct. 25 after running unopposed.
They are: Mark Mullen of Hightstown, who is manager of his family’s Fair Winds Farm in Cream Ridge, and Dr. Stephen P. Dey III, who is vice president of Dey Equine Veterinarians and part owner of Heritage Hill Farm in Allentown, in the breeder category, and Robert Boni of Secaucus, who is the owner of the Northwood Bloodstock Agency in the owner category. Mullen and Dey, who are former Board members, replace Thomas A. D’Altrui and Taylor Palmer Jr. in the breeder category, while Boni suceeds former SBOANJ President Anthony J. Parenti in the owner category. D’Altrui, Palmer and Parenti did not seek re-election after long-term service on the Board and as officers of the Association. (SBOANJ)
