Following Lucky Chucky’s impressive eight-length romp in 1:53 in Sunday’s $500,000 Colonial Trot at Harrah’s Chester, trainer Chuck Sylvester said the colt is now headed to Tioga Downs for the Dr. Harry M. Zweig Memorial on Sunday, Aug. 29. “We’ll go the Zweig next weekend and then to Canada and then the Breeders Crown and the Lexington Futurity and I think that will be it for him,” said Sylvester of Lucky Chucky, who he shares ownership of as SGS racing with his daughter, Amy Stoltzfus, and Neal Goldman, in partnership with Lindy Racing Stable and Perretti Racing Stable. “He’s been good since day one and he’s always going to be a special colt for me.” In Sunday’s Colonial, driver John Campbell directed the son of Windsong’s Legacy to his 11th victory in 17 career starts, an effort that equaled the stakes and world record set in last year’s Colonial by Explosive Matter and equaled earlier in 2010 by Pilgrims Chuckie at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. Overall, Lucky Chucky now has career earnings of $1,366,621. Put On A Show, who won Sunday’s $350,000 Valley Forge for 3-year-old filly pacers at Chester in a stakes and track record 1:50.1, is now headed to Canada for the Simcoe Sept. 5 at Mohawk. Trainer Chris Ryder said he has already mapped out a solid campaign that will include most of the remaining major stakes except the Jugette. Following the Simcoe, Put On A Show will head to Lexington for the Nadia Lobell on Sept. 13, and then to Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs for the Breeders Crown.
