Lucky in Kentucky for colt

Lucky Point Blank won the $71,600 Kentucky Summer Championship final Saturday night at The Red Mile in a blistering 1:50.3.

Joe To Go and driver Ricky Macomber Jr. led the field of tem through a :54.4 half and 1:23 three quarters. At the top of the stretch, Marcus Johansson tipped Lucky Point Blank from second and the duo paced on.

Lucky Point Blank knocked two seconds off his lifetime best with the win. Paul Reid trains the Jenna’s Beach Boy colt for owner Perfect World Enterprises.

Originally named Allamerican Bogart, Lucky Point Blank was a $110,000 yearling. Lucky Point Blank’s three-quarter brother, At Point Blank, earned $718,067.

Cue The Paige won the Winbak Farms early-closer for freshman colt pacers in 1:55.3 under the guidance of Brendan Johnson.

A son of Real Desire out of Jugette winner Paige Nichole Q, Cue The Paige was a $27,000 yearling purchase by Adam Victor & Son LLC. Noel Daley trains the first-time starter.
