JL Magic Max won the third and fastest division of the Ohio Breeders Championship for 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers Thursday afternoon at the Delaware (Ohio) County Fairgrounds with a 1:52 effort for driver Brett Miller. For Miller, who also won the opening $19,334 split with Private Room, it was his 17th winner of the week to tie him with his cousin, David Miller, for the most wins in a single week at Delaware.

JL Magic Max, a gelded son of Stand Forever, is trained by Virgil Morgan Jr. for owner Joseph Muscara. Unraced last year at two, it was just the third career start for JL Magic Max, but it kept his perfect record intact. The time lowered his career mark by one second.

Private Room crossed the wire first in 1:53.3, the sixth win of the year in 14 starts and a career best. Morgan trains the winning son of Nobleland Sam for owner Barnett Zimmerman LLC.

The other championship division went to Big Production and Dave Palone, who nosed out Touchtown and Greg Grismore in the final stride in 1:53.1. A son of Nobleland Sam, Big Production was recently purchased by James Patrick Gates of Tampa, Fla., and Cathleen Landis of Charlotte, N.C., and transfered to trainer John Sokol's barn. The win was his fifth of the year in 17 attempts.
