Magic was in the air for Canadian trainer-owner Denitza Petrova Wednesday night at the Isle Pompano Park as her 3-year old Dauntless Bunny gelding, Ben Magic ($7.80), made his debut at Pompano to capture his first pari-mutuel win in 26 lifetime starts. Driver Anthony Napolitano and Ben Magic sat nine lengths behind the leader, HT’s Kroeger (Tyler Sheehan) at the quarter-mile marker in :28.3. Ben Magic picked up momentum as Napolitano moved him to the outside as they past the half-mile marker in :58.4 and kept gaining ground as they paced by the three quarters in 1:27.2. As they turned for home Ben Magic took over the lead down the stretch to win in 1:56.3 by 1 3/4 lengths. Some Call Me Joe (Gaston Lareau) finished second with Kamikaze Flyer (Dan Clements) taking the third spot. (Pompano Park)
