One heavy favorite and one longshot won Late Closer titles as The Great Rivalries series wrapped up on Friday afternoon at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.

The favorite, Magic Swan, cashed in at 4-5 odds to win the $37,000 final of the Army-Navy Trot in 1:55.1. Mike Simons did the driving for trainer Jeffrey Long, who owns the horse along with J. Paul Long of Delaware and James Harris of New York.

In the $24,500 Ali-Frazier final for 3-and 4-year-old colts and geldings on the pace, The Deputy Is Home took the shortest possible route to an upset win at 12-1. Driver Tom Jackson guided The Deputy Is Home into the pocket behind favorite Jellis As Hecht, then used the inside passing lane to get up for the win in 1:55.

Jellis As Hecht faded to second with H H Blackjack picking up third. The Deputy Is Home is trained by Del Cote of New Jersey, who owns along with Joe and Joann Thomson of Maryland and Henry Faragalli III of Pennsylvania.
