Maidrite stayed perfect in the May Flowers Pacing Series for 3- and 4-year-old fillies and mares, easily winning the $26,500 final on Tuesday afternoon at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. Maidrite, trained by Albert Meyer, sat fifth early on before swinging out wide on the turn toward the backstretch. The 4-year-old mare easily wrested the lead away from Rosagatha, who had swept the three preliminary legs without facing Maidrite. Maidrite extended the lead to seven lengths around the last turn and coasted home to the win. Rosagatha managed to stay on for second while Truly Attractive rallied for third. The Squawk Box Stable of Monroe Township, N.J. owns Maidrite, who set a career mark with her winning time of 1:53.3. The 4-year-old daughter of Nobleland Sam earned her seventh win in 14 races in 2007, including a perfect 3-for-3 in the series after missing the first leg. (Pocono Downs)
